Here is a stunning Simpson & Partners Tethered EV charger we installed in Hemblington, East Norwich, Norfolk.
The homeowner booked a site-survey as he was halfway through a substantial renovation and development of his property.
An extra sensible decision as we were able to discuss cable requirements and potential cable routes etc, way before he had any landscaping works completed.
The homeowner advised me he’d previously approached Pod Point who had told him that he would need to pay £1500 to book an installation, then they’d attend site to attempt install or assess installing at a later date – with no idea of the final costings or viability until he’d much such a large financial commitment.
Naturally he wasn’t too keen on this idea so instead he booked an EV charger site-survey and got his local impartial experts out to run through all his options with him.
We looked at where his new electricity meter was going to be located and agreed with his site electrician that they would install a secondary meter box. This enabled us to locate our EV charger switchgear and associated peripherals in the dry and out of sight.
We looked at cable routes and measured the cable run, and we discussed methods of mounting the charger being sympathetic to the environment – agreeing on a wooden post fixed into the ground.
Finally, we discussed EV charger options, and the homeowner was smitten with the Simpson & Partners demo unit that we take to our EV charger site-surveys. The homeowner confirmed the colours and opted for a tethered unit.
And the outcome?
A stunning, customised EV charger installation that looks like it grew there – stylish and sympathetic to its surroundings.
No unsightly switchgear boxes, cabling or having to dig up gardens.
